When it comes to finding the perfect spot for your photos, I always start by getting the lowdown on your family’s weekend morning routines. This way, I can get a glimpse of how you actually like to relax and have fun. Then we can plan some activities to do during our ~2 hour documentary session that feel easy and natural!

Now, let me tell you about my client Jackie! We brainstormed and decided that the ultimate choice for her family’s summer photos would be an early morning adventure to the Worthington Farmer’s Market. By getting together bright and early, we managed to beat the scorching August heat (and most of the crowds!) and capture her family in a way that’s absolutely unique to them.

Today, Jackie’s taking over the blog to share her experience of stepping outside her comfort zone. So without any further delay, here’s her story:

What’s better than exploring the Worthington Farmers Market with your family on a Summer Saturday? Having Daisy follow you around with her camera while you do it!

Our family loves exploring downtown historic Worthington during Farmer’s Market season. You can’t go wrong supporting small local businesses, getting exercise, fresh air, and vitamin D, and experiencing first hand all the beauty and deliciousness the vendors have to offer.

Last summer we had the pleasure of having Daisy document just such an excursion. It’s easy to take the sights, smells, and tastes of the market for granted, and forget just how magical it can be. Looking back on our photos from this session reminds us to appreciate the simple pleasures of the market (and life in general!) and literally brings smiles to our faces. Especially when we’re in the middle of a gray Ohio winter and longing for the dog days of summer again!

I’m so glad we let Daisy lead us a little outside our photoshoot comfort zone (read: not just another session in a metro park). The market is, in a sense, the perfect living, breathing, backdrop for family photos. Every family’s farmer’s market session will be unique, depending on how each of them interacts with the things they encounter there.

Don’t hesitate to step outside the box and try something new when it comes to your family photos. You won’t regret reliving the joy of the adventurous moments you shared together!
