first timer? my guides will help you feel prepared & confident!

01.

Book your session

You reach out to me and we chat on the phone. A quick 20-minute phone call gives you the chance to spill the beans about your family, and ask any questions you have about working with me.

If we fit together like PB&J, we’ll find a time for your session. Family sessions are scheduled 7 days per week. Newborn sessions are scheduled on weekdays around 10 A.M.

A signed contract and 1/3 of your total session fee are due at booking. I’ll send you my digital Prep Guide so you know just what to expect, plus a questionnaire so I can get to know your family.

I’m available to answer questions as our date approaches. A week before your session, your second installment is due.

02.

Have Your Session

Put on something comfy, and get ready for an extended playdate with your family. Your session will last about 2 hours, and capture you in the middle of your favorite activities. The pace is relaxed and documentary-style with minimal direction unless needed.

You’re my only family of the day.

No “say cheese” or bribing your kids, ever.

Everyone is free to be their wonderfully goofy selves

03.

THE REVEAL

Just 3 weeks later, you get your gallery of images. You watch the slideshow and cry alligator tears. All the moments are captured, just the way you wanted: the whole family together, the little hand reaching for yours, your dog loving on the kiddos, and even your kids’ weird artwork. Photos that make you say, “this is us.”

04.

download your images & shop in the store

You’ll pay your final installment, and gain access to your online gallery for 2 months. All of the images (a minimum of 50) are yours to download and keep. But that’s not all.

Investing in prints ensures you have something from your session that lasts. I’ve picked out the most unique and high-quality products from professional labs to help make decisions easier.

Your family is a masterpiece with a story worth telling.

LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, differently-abled, and non-traditionally structured families are welcomed and celebrated at Daisy Zimmer Photography.

If this offends you, I am not the photographer for you.

GOT QUESTIONS?

I’ve got answers!

Unlike “1-2-3-say cheese” photos, I provide a truly laid-back experience. A longer session gives your kids a chance to get truly comfortable with me, without the pressure to perform in a time constraint. I’ll help you plan activities during the session that tell your story, and keep your kids happy and laughing. Pretty soon, you’ll all forget there is a camera in the room!

You’re in good company, because 99% of my clients express the same concerns before the session. But from here forward, you can think of me as family. Working with me is as low-pressure as it gets. I’m patient with shy kids, and crazy and wild with outgoing kids. If your family needs a specialized approach, or if I need to shoot strategically to avoid certain areas of your home, that is totally doable.

Your phone’s camera roll might have a lot of cute snapshots, but it’s also cluttered with memes and screenshots of dinner recipes and other crap that will eventually be deleted. The photos we make together are special. They are intentional. They are made with love. And you’ll actually be IN these photos. You will proudly hang them on your walls, pass them down for generations, and cherish them above anything else you own. They will last.

Yes, I always try to get one camera-aware shot because Grandma will be SO sad if we don’t.

Something comfortable! If you want a more cohesive look, my online Styling Service can help you coordinate around a specific color palette.

Usually in 3-4 weeks, maybe a bit longer in the Spring or Fall. If you need images or professional prints by a certain date, just let me know when you reach out and we’ll schedule accordingly.

Newborn and in-home family sessions are scheduled around 10 A.M. If you have school-aged children or want to be outdoors, the other time that works well is 2 hours before sunset. I only schedule one family per day, so exact timing is flexible.

Emergencies happen and kids get sick. I want to photograph you when you’re feeling great, so it’s OK to reschedule. If it rains, we’ll find the next available date.
