When you look back on your family memories, you want to see the stuff you love.

Today, I’m sharing 3 ideas for family photos that are certainly outside the box, but guaranteed to add beautiful spontaneity to your gallery walls and photo albums!

1. go to your favorite local ice cream spot

The Jeni’s walk-up window or outdoor patio at Forty Deuce provide a spunky backdrop for a chill hangout. Happy bellies = happy kids and parents = beautiful photos. It’s a simple idea, but it works like a charm every time!

2. Scout some colorful local art

If you’re looking for pops of color, the Short North Arts District, Franklinton, and Clintonville are sprinkled with bright buildings and unique street art tucked away in quiet corners. Murals often change year to year, which means you might have to hunt for the perfect spot, but your photos are guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind.

3. Go on a walk around your neighborhood

You don’t have to get in your car and drive to a strange place for photos! Let’s hang out in your backyard, or walk to that park you love. Staying home means you’ll have all your comforts within arm’s reach, and your photos will have a more personal feel that you just can’t get from a random park.

When it comes to capturing family memories, it always pays to think outside the box! My goal is to always capture your joy authentically, so you can look back on your photos and say, “this is us!”
